Week 34 prompt for Journal 52 -- Alphabet

My youngest daughter Shannon wanted to help me with this prompt. So we sat down together to come up with an idea. We decided that we would make a page which the 26 letters of the alphabet on it & beneath each letter we could create a flap in which you can lift up. Under each flap I would journal about something which begins with that corresponding letter. For example A is for Art - I like Art Because.... (and then I would write about why I like art.)

We began with ten sheets of 6x6 scrapbook paper. We measured, and figured out that for each piece of 6x6 paper we could get three rectangle's, measuring approximately - 96 x55 m . Which we would then fold in half thus creating a square with a flap.  We use the patterned side of each piece of paper for my journaling and on the outside of each piece my daughter and I decorated using acrylic paints and stencils.

Once our painted pieces were dry we stuck them down, this is when we relised that we would have space on our page for two extra squares... which was fine in the end because it gave me somewhere to put the date etc...

We added an alphabet sticker on the front of each square and that was the page completed except for my journaling.

For more info on what I wrote for each letter take a look below :)

The  photo above shows the painted rectanguler papers, once dried we folded them in half to create a square. We then attached each square to our journal page as the photo to the right demonstrates.  Finally I have written out what each letter makes me think of. Why don't you try this yourself, what would you chose for each letter? and why? .
