Journal 52 Prompt Week 20 : Book Inspired
The prompt was to make a page about a book you read.
To be honest I don't enjoy reading, I'm to impatient and I
end up skipping to the end to find out what happens.
I much prefer to watch films or dramas, as I can find out the ending quicker...
I do however read informative books and non fictional books. Which is why a based this Art journal page on a book I have. It is called: American Indian Design and Decoration by Le Roy H. Appleton.
This book is full of wonderful images, facts, stories and poetry.
I used images from this book as reference for my page,
decided to make a girl standing between two totem poles. The girl is a collage of different pieces of paper. The dress is from a piece of patterned scrap paper I had and then I decorated it further with some American Indian designs from my book, I then added feathers to her hair.
I used different coloured Crayons scribbled over paper and then I scratched on to it to create a pattern. I then cut into it in order to create a grass like effect and added it to the bottom of my page. To complete this art journal page I added a Native American Proverb
