Week 9 Journal 52 Prompt - Colour swatch Inspiration

I used a colour swatch booklet to look for inspiration for this page, of course my eyes were drawn to the blue page. I love all shades of blues and greens.

The background for this page was made with acrylic paints in various different shades of blue. I also added a touch of lilac paint into the background to add some interest. The texture was created using bubble wrap and an old cardboard tube from a toilet paper roll.

I drew the face and then painted her with similar blue shades, as I had used in the background. Only I lighten them with some white acrylic paint, so her face would stand out against the background.

After finishing the face I looked at the page and thought it looked as if she was laying back in a pool of water, so I decided to make her a sparkly sequin swim cap. I attached the sequins to my page using Golden gel matte medium.

Lastly I cut the colour swatch into strips and added them to my page and then stuck on some alphabet stickers to spell out my title.
