Week 24 Jourmal 52 Prompt - COURAGE.

 

 

For this art journal page I was stuck for inspiration.

So after a timely length on pinterest I finally found something to inspire me. An artist called neo- innov.

 

I wanted to create a page in a similar style. I started with a piece of newspaper, which I crumpled up an then painted over it with gesso to create a distressed background. 

 

I typed up some reasons why I have had courage in my life, things I have overcome and struggles I have fought and won. I printed it out & then tore it up and stuck it to the left hand side of my page.

 

I drew the face on a separate piece of paper as I often do. I used a black biro pen to sketch the face and then I used a very cheap children's watercolour palette to paint the face and shade it slightly with shades of beige and brown. After drying time, I then stuck the face to my page overlapping slightly the printed text I had wrote earlier, as I didn't want it to be easily read. 

 

Finally I glued down a strip of brown paper, which I had already painted and I had also burnt it at the edges  to create a distressed effect. I then wrote an Albert Einstein quote on to the brown paper. The quote reads ; There are only two ways to live your life, One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
