Freedom and Friendship

My art journal page for Krazy Island studios Prompts for September week 2 Friendship & week 3 Freedom.

For this page I decided to give myself the Freedom to create, without any thought or care about how the page would look in the end. The four faces are to represent friendship and family because my closest friend's are family members.

I began by using a sponge to blend teal, raspberry red and white acrylic paints all over the entire background.

Next I used some pear green coloured acrylic paint through a stencil to create more texture.

Then using big, bold, sweeping movements I painted across the page several times creating arch's.  I highlighted each arch with white acrylic paint. 

When I looked at the page I began to notice faces in the background, so I decided to include them. I sketched around each face using a green oil pastel and then drew on the features, also using oil pastel's. Lastly I added some journaling, the date and then the page was complete.
