How Does Your Garden Grow
Week 13 Journal 52 Prompt: How Does Your Garden Grow.
I enjoyed this prompt and the whole process of making this journal page. I started by using a 12x12 scrapbook paper for the background. After gluing this to my journal, I then began drawing the girls face on a separate piece of paper as I often do.
I find it easier to draw and paint faces this way, as there is no risk of the face becoming soiled with any other media I use.
I enjoy drawing/sketching faces, from time to time for no good reason,
except that I like to! Which is in fact a perfectly good reason... right?
I drew the girls face and then used Pro- markers in flesh tones to colour her in.
This was something I was not used to, however I think it turned out quite well.
I next cut around the drawing of the girls face and the glued her to my art journal.
Now for her hair!
Making her 'hair' was a very tiresome task as a I had to fussy cut all of the flowers
out of some lovely patterned tissue paper I have. After some time of tirelessly cutting
them all out, I arranged them on my page around the girls face. I then glued them all down. Finally I added a quote by The Walt Disney Company ; “The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all.”
