Next I stuck down some grey coloured felt alphabet stickers, to spell out the word Gratitude. I then added some shading
around the letters to make them stand out. Finally I did some more doodling with the white pen and then added the date and my page was completed.
Gratitude
Week 34 Prompt for Journal 52 - Gratitude.
I wanted to include a invoice that I was recently sent, as part of this art journal page. The invoice was for some art supplies that I had ordered online and my fiance David had kindly paid for. I was very thankful for this and seeing as the prompt was gratitude, I thought using the invioce would be fitting.
I began by painting the invioce with some Ultramarine coloured acrylic paint. Once dry, I tore the edges of the invioce and then I used a white sekura gelli roll pen to begin decorating the painted invioce. I doodled some flower shapes and some foliage, I also stamped some flowers and butterflies on to it, using a white ink pad.
I then took a used envelope and cut along the edges of it, which revealed a lovely blue & white checked pattern on the inside of the envelope. I attached the patterned side of the envelope to the back of the painted invioce and then trimmed off any overhang. However I did not glue it down completely. On the left hand side of the page, I left a approximately 2 inch strip which was not glued to the envelope. I wanted to create a flap, somewhere for me to add some journaling, which could be hidden.
Next I added eyelets, I then took some white embroidery thread and created a crisscross, laced up effect by weaving the tread through the eyelets. I then tied the tread and then attached some beads to the ends. I then added a length of baby blue lace along the left hand side of my page, and then journaled beneath the newly created flap.
