Kel's   Painted   Paradise

 

This page was created after following an All Things Creative facebook group - Prompt.

They gave a prompt to create a page using Black, White, Red, A Tree and a Animal. I was stuck for an idea, I had no clue what I wanted to do.  So to get my creativity flowing I decided to take a look through my box of  Arty & Crafty ephemera. 

 

I have lots of old cardmaking and scrapbooking supplies. Whilst rummaging through I came across some images of birds. One of which was a Red Cardinal. I researched Red Cardinals and found some images of them in birch trees. That was it! This was my inspiration for this page... I would paint some black and white birch trees and then add the Red cardinal sitting in one of the trees.

 

After Painting the birch trees using my trusty old credit card to drag the black paint over the white paint, hence making the effect of the bark on the birch trees. I was ready to add the Red Cardinal... Only to realise it had somehow gone missing! :(

 

So after some time searching for it with no luck, I had no choice but to draw a Red Cardinal. I drew it using a black biro. I then coloured  it in with  a red sharpie and then added white highlights  to the bird with my posca paint pen.

 

To complete the page I added the date, some journaling and a short saying which reads; Hey you... too much thinking, not enough doing! To remind myself not to think so much about the pages I make. I spend to much time thinking about what I want to do that not much gets done. I need to just pick up the paintbrush and create something.
