Week 2 Prompt for Journal 52

 

I love nature, its so beautiful. The Flowers, The Trees and The Amazing landscapes and views.  

 

For this prompt I wanted to represent nature and all its beauty on one page. I chose my favourite colour teal for the background. I used a variety of different stencils and painted through them with different shades of teal paint to make the background interesting..

 

I actually used a photo of myself as reference, for the face. Which I drew and then coloured in with watercolour pencils.  The flowers around the face are all different. Some where fussy cut from patterned scrapbook paper, some are fabric flowers and some are paper flowers from my stash. 

 

I chose to make a very striking black and white pathway at the bottom of the page. These black and white tiles are often seen around London. They were often used as pathways in old Victorian houses. They make me imagine past times and the people who would of lived in those houses... I wonder what their lives were like?  

 

I Completed this page with a quote by an unknown author. It reads ; Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers.... Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul.
