I'll Bring You Flower's
Art Journal page for Krazy Island Family Prompt - June Week 2 - Re-Use It.
And
Krazy Island Family Prompt - June Week 4 - Scrap Paper.
I decided to re-use old paper scraps that I had left over from making my Alphabet page.
I cut the paper scraps into flower shapes and then put them to one side.
I took some Lime green acrylic paint and painted my entire page, at this point I decided I wanted to make this a two page spread.
Re-using my left over scrap papers, fitted with both prompts. I then painted over the opposite page with the same Lime green paint.
Once both pages were dry, I took my Imagination crafts template - Daisy curl and used Liqiutex Hookers green acrylic paint to stencil through it.
I really loved how it turned out, the pattern was great.
Whilst this was drying, on a separate piece of plain white paper I drew a girl.
I drew her as if she was holding a bouquet of flowers and then once happy with my drawing, I used pro- markers to colour her face and skin.
For her hair I used Liquitex Unbleached titanium and Yellow acrylic paint (mixed with white) which I applied using a palette knife.
This technique is fantastic for adding texture. It was the first time I had tried using the palette knife to create texture for hair, I loved how it turned out and I would definitely used this technique again.
Whilst the girl was drying, I decided to attach colourful buttons onto the flower shapes I had cut out earlier.
I first glued the buttons to the flower shapes and then I used a needle and thread to sew the buttons onto each flower.
I then used the remaining scraps of paper I had left over from my alphabet page to cut out petal shapes, which I wanted to use for the girls skirt.
Next I painted the top part of the girls dress with lilac acrylic paint and allowed this to dry.
I positioned the flowers and the girl on my pages where I wanted them to be. Then I glued all the elements down using Golden regular gel matte medium. Finally to complete the pages I added details and shading to the girl with watercolour pencils. I wrote a quote with a green Pro marker and highlighted it with a white posca paint pen.
The quote reads; " I am in charge of how I feel and today I am choosing happiness."
