Revisitation
I am a member of Jennibellies Journal Workshops site and I take part in her Monthly Challenge Group.
This art journal page was created following a prompt which was called: Revisitation. The challenge was to go back to a past piece of artwork that I didn't love and then revive it into something else. I found an old sketch I had drawn a while back of a girls face. It was just a basic pencil sketch nothing fancy.
I decided to 'Revisit' it and include it on this page. I took the sketch and coloured her in using a variety of different medias, Including
Pro -markers/Pencils and watercolour pencils. I added highlights to her face using a white sekura gelly roll pen.
I created the background using acrylic paints, I also painted through a star stencil to create some interest. I Journaled at the bottom of the page and added a quote by Joshua J. Marine. Which Reads; Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.
When the background was dry, I glued the face on to my page. I felt at this point the page was a bit bland and I wanted to add something else. After some thought I decided to copy an idea I had done on a previous Journal page; How does your garden grow. I fussy cut some flowers from a sheet of patterned tissue paper and then glued them into place on my page.
This page was created as part of a two page spread. The images on the two pages are not meant to link together. They are separate pages, made with different prompts. However I chose to use a similar colour palette for both pages, so that when viewing the book it is more pleasing to the eye. The Other page is called Without Words.
